Rabbit Run kicks off Rothsville Community Day

Plans are underway for the 14th annual Rothsville Community Day, to be held Saturday, Sept. 19, at Forney Field, Church Street, Rothsville.

The day will kick off at 9:30 a.m.with a 5K Fun Run/Walk sponsored by Wellspan Family & Pediatric Medicine-Rothsville. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Forney Field. Proceeds from the $10 registration fee will benefit a local charity.

Free events of the day will include kids’ games and activities, music and food. A helicopter candy drop, sponsored by the Rothsville Ambulance Association, will take place at 10:45 a.m. A barrel train and bounce house will also be on hand.

In the afternoon, Morning Star Magic will present magic with a message. Due to the excellent response last year, the egg toss, wheel barrow race and three legged race will be repeated for both children and adults. Door prizes from local businesses will be given away throughout the day.

The event is sponsored by Rothsville area churches (Jerusalem Lutheran, Millport Mennonite, Salem United Methodist and St. Paul’s E.C.) In conjunction with the Northern Regional Police, the Rothsville Fire Company and the Rothsville Ambulance Association.
