Annual church grove picnic will honor vets, active military

The community is invited to attend Brickerville United Lutheran’s “Ole Fashioned Community Picnic” on Saturday, July 2, from 3:30 to 8 p.m. The event will take place at the church’s shaded grove, at 340 E. 28th Division Highway, on the corner of Hershey Road and Route 322 in Brickerville.

This year’s theme honors all veterans and active military. Entertainment will be provided by the historic Ringgold Band. The three mini-concerts throughout the event will feature Broadway and Disney tunes, novelty numbers, and sacred selections. The evening will conclude with a patriotic send-off in the style and spirit that would have made John Philip Sousa proud.

Food offerings include: chicken corn soup, hamburgers, hot-dogs, barbecue, fresh fruit salad, garden salads with chicken, homemade desserts, and more. Food will be available for sale throughout the event.

Free activities will be provided for the children. The picnic will be held rain or shine. Free parking is available, and donations are accepted at the gate to help offset costs.

It is suggested to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the performances at the outdoor pavilion, or call the church office at 627-2202 to have chairs reserved.
