Local percussive fingerstyle guitarist Alex Brubaker returns to the Cafe at Ten Thousand Villages following the successful release of his third solo album, “The Architect; The Engineer.”

The show takes place Friday, June 26, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m., at the Cafe, located at 240 N. Reading Road, Ephrata.

Combining traditional, melodic fingerstyle playing with the rhythmic drive from percussive hits on the body and strings of the guitar, Brubaker couples guitar technique with elements such as live looping to create complex soundscapes. Though an instrumental guitarist, he marries his performances with stories from his personal life, delving into the adventure-laden origins of the songs and exploring his own, unique writing style.

Brubaker will be performing original pieces at the Cafe, promoting the new album.

For more information about the show, call the Cafe at 721-8400 or visit alexbrubakerguitar.com.
