On-again off-again showers may have kept the amateurs away on Saturday night, but diehard Laurel Avenue Lights fans toughed it out.

As spectators arrived in the drizzle, acappella foursome Sum of Each sang lively holiday tunes. Members of the Motz clan handed out hot cocoa and a variety of homemade cookies, which a few popular standards, but also gingerbread, lemon, and cranberry shortbread.

Singer Judy Pancoast arrived on the back of the engine from Lititz Fire Co. No. 1 through the foggy mise.  The fire department is the recipient of all donations collected at this year’s Laurel Avenue Lights display.

Pancoast, who has been nominated for the Best Children’s Album Grammy, performed for an hour. Then, Rich and Wendy Motz flipped the switch and performed both their musically synchronized light displays back to back.

The displays will be running through Jan. 1, evenings from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at 659 Laurel Avenue. Learn more on the Laurel Avenue Lights Facebook page.
