Rainy weather resulted in a change of date for the Manheim Lions Club’s 18th annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Market Square. The event was held Sunday, Dec 2.

This year’s festivities included performances from Cricket’s Performing Arts, Manheim Central Middle School choral group Meistersingers, and the Manheim Brass Band. There was caroling and kids of all ages were able visit with Santa Claus and Rudolph.

One lucky local, Jesse Brantz, won the opportunity to “flip the switch” to illuminate the lights on the Christmas tree. This year, the Christmas tree lights were synchronized to music, thanks to Stray Lighting and Production Services, Lititz.

There are still a few more holiday events taking place this month in Manheim. See the calendar on this page to learn more.
