Horse show Saturday at Linden Hall

By on April 19, 2017

Years ago, a hot spot for local equestrians during the warmer months was the Linden Hall campus, where a successful horse show series was run at their equestrian facility. Riders and their horses would arrive in the early hours of the morning and compete against others in divisions such as Short Stirrup, Student Hunter, Pleasure Horse, and Junior Equitation.

This Saturday, April 22, the first of five Summer Schooling Shows is scheduled to take place once again after a hiatus of several years. Now, riders will not only compete in the traditional schooling show divisions, but they will also have a chance to try their hand at a Hunter Derby course, jumping not only in the arena, but also in a grass field (weather permitting). Events start at 8 a.m. and will run most of the day.

Whitney Hanford, a graduate of the Linden Hall School, will be set up with items from her tack store, The Corner Stable Tack Shop (in the process of moving to Strasburg. The public is invited to attend and enjoy the (hopefully) lovely outdoor weather.

Competing in the horse show is not restricted to Linden Hall students, and riders are encouraged to visit the Linden Hall website ( to pre-register themselves and their horses for their classes.
