By on October 1, 2014

The Lititz Moravian Stars will be performing songs that charted from 1958 to 1990 at the eighth annual Harvest Hop in the Social Hall of the Moravian Church on Saturday night, Nov. 1, from 7 to 10 p.m.

Admission is $5 and proceeds from the event support the Church’s 20-30 Somethings and Senior High Groups activities.

The band includes four of The Vandals, a Lititz group that played at the former Lititz Rec Center in the 1960s. Bill Stauffer the lead vocalist, Mike “Fuzzy” Weirich on guitar and bass, Steve Zander on the keyboard, and Ed Ruth the drummer. Other band members include vocalists Marilyn Copenhaver and Kim Stoner. Matt Bomberger alternates on guitar and bass. The band features Dr. Gary Scibal on trumpet, Jack LaClair on tenor sax, and Barry Frey on trombone for the band’s Motown set.

Refreshments will be sold at the Harvest Hop with profits also benefiting the sponsoring groups. Admission is limited, so plan to arrive early to avoid having to sit with a blocked view.

The date is also the end of Daylight Savings Time, so you get an extra of sleep time. “When the clocks fall back, the Stars come out.”
