Halloween parade rules posted

The Lititz Lions Club Halloween parade will be held Monday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. in downtown Lititz. This is a rain or shine event.

The parade starts at Locust and Main Streets, travels west on Main Street, and ends at the square. The parade judges will be located at Sturgis Lane and Main Street.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: children, groups, and floats.

Print applications, submitted to the Lititz Lions Club, P.O. Box 165, Lititz, PA 17543, by Friday, Oct. 27, or submit online applications at litizlions.org.

The following floats/entries are not allowed:

  • No political floats.
  • No commercial organization entries.
  • No cars or trucks.
  • No throwing of objects to spectators from floats or moving vehicles. Handouts can be made by walkers along the parade route.

Police will be bagging parking meters three hours before the parade. People may put chairs and blankets down two hours before the parade. On blocks where there are no parking meters, people may put chairs and blankets down five hours before event. Chairs and blankets will be collected by police if policy is not followed as indicated, subject to penalties and fines according to law.

Dollar hotdogs will be sold during the parade and all proceeds will benefit the Lititz Lions Club.
