A runner crosses the finish line in the rain at last year’s inaugural Friendship Community 5K.

Friendship Community will host its 25th annual Fest & Auction on Saturday, May 12 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. All activities take place on the grounds at 1149 East Oregon Road.

The event starts with the second Annual 5K Run/Walk. This will be followed by a day of family fun, food and fellowship. This annual event has been a great way to bring the community together and celebrate the capabilities of Friendship Community individuals.

Registration for the 5K begins at 7 a.m., and the run/walk starts at 8 a.m. All participants will receive a free pancake and sausage breakfast.

Breakfast will be available to all fest patrons from 7 to 10 a.m. A general auction, featuring unique and local wears, quilts, gift baskets, and vacation packages, will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Don’t forget to stop by the plant tent.

There will be many kids’ activities, including face painting, barrel train rides, and a magic show by Papa Tater. The food tent is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A display of art created by Friendship Community’s individuals can be viewed at the Heart Gallery and Meaningful Day Academy tent. Art work will be for sale, and information on both programs will be available throughout the day.
