Farmers market opens May 21

The Lititz Farmers Market opens for the season on May 21. There will be 22 vendors selling local produce, baked goods, free range meats, and more.

Opening day will have a gardening theme. Master Gardener Linda Day will be making presentations. Some of the special vendors include Lancaster Conservancy with information on rain barrels; Your Garden Solution with square foot gardening displays and products on sale including some great humus compost from Penn Valley Farms. As a special treat, Alpaca “beans” will be on sale; they make for great fertilizer.

Lititz Moms Club will offer temporary tattoos for the kids, and Lititz Cub Pack 100 will be doing seed plantings that families can take home and watch grow. Crunch, mascot from Lighten Up Lancaster, will also be on-hand.

Entertainment will be provided by Matt Wenger, with a unique variety of musicians set to perform each week throughout the season, including Bobby Wehner, Unum, When Less is More, Steel Radiance, Myopics, and a capella quartets Sum of Each and Break From Blue Collar.

The market will be open each Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon through mid-October, and is located at on Water Street, half a block from East Main.
