By on May 18, 2016

Red Rose City Women’s Chorus will be the featured artists in the next concert offered by the St. Peter’s Musical Arts Concert Series at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Road, Lancaster. The event is slated for Saturday, May 21, at 7 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. No tickets are needed, as interested concert-goers are invited to contribute during a free-will offering at intermission.

The 42-voice women’s ensemble specializes in a cappella harmonizations of standards, featuring “Over the Rainbow,” “When the Red, Red Robin comes Bob, Bob Bobbin’ Along,” and “One Fine Day,” as well as unique takes on newer songs like “It’s Raining Men.”

Director Lori Jo Whitehaus has been directing the group since 1994 and coincidentally also leads the local men’s group, the Red Rose Chorus. The performance will also feature performance by several chapter quartets.

Red Rose City Chorus is the Lancaster chapter of Sweet Adelines, an international singing organization that encompasses over 33,000 women. The choruses are located in the U.S. and 14 nations throughout the globe. The Red Rose City Chorus meets weekly in Lititz and offers numerous programs for civic and charitable organizations.
