Education Rocks! will benefit Warwick Education Foundation

For the second year in a row, Rock Lititz will be the site for the big spring fundraising party hosted by the Warwick Education Foundation. Education Rocks! will repeat last year’s wildly popular agenda of dinner, dancing, and auctions to benefit K-12 public school students.

“Community response was absolutely amazing,” recalls Barbara Mobley, the Foundation’s executive director, “so we’re staging a repeat performance. But we’ve added a few surprises to make the night even more fun.”

Held at Pod 2 on the Rock Lititz campus, Education Rocks! kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening, April 6, with appetizers and drinks as ticketholders gather for a festive celebration that’s a one-night spring break for Warwick adults. It includes a performance by the Warwick High School Jazz Band, catered dinner and dessert stations by TFB Hospitality of Per Diem and Gravie fame, and dancing to the music of Usual Suspects, a local band.

Winners of the raffle drawing held at noon on April 6 will be announced at the event. Silent and live auction players could win any of 50-plus coveted experiences and luxury items, including an overnight getaway on Cape May, an excursion for two to Asheville, N.C., and winner’s choice to see either Elton John or Billy Joel in concert.

“We’re hoping this year’s event will be so successful the Foundation can once again surpass $200,000 in annual support of our students’ educational enrichment,” says Dan Doremus, co-chair of Education Rocks!

The money raised goes toward innovative education grants, expert-in-residence grants, and technology upgrades above and beyond the school district’s budget. For the 2018-2019 school year, for example, the Warwick Education Foundation awarded 19 separate grants shared by 50 of the district’s teachers. One of these grants enabled all four elementary schools to participate in the reading program One School, One Book, One Community, for which the Foundation bought over 1,900 books.

“It really adds up over time,” points out Cameron Furman, board member, co-chair and Warwick alumnus. “Since 1997, the Warwick Education Foundation has invested over $1.7 million in highly-focused educational programs and resources at Warwick School District.”

Beyond individual participation, Education Rocks! depends on strong support from local companies and families. This year’s platinum sponsors are Lititz Mutual Insurance Company, Rohrer’s, Inc., and Versatek Enterprises; gold sponsors are Sechan Electronics and Jeff & Jane Tennis; silver sponsors are Groff, Inc., Luthercare, McElroy Pharmacy, Moravian Manor, Tiger’s Eye, and Mike and Pam Vigunas.

Individual tickets to Education Rocks! can be purchased on the Warwick Education Foundation website,, or email

“Local companies and families understand the importance of doing something extra to enrich public school education,” says Doremus, “and we recognize that giving to the Foundation is a great investment in the future of our community. I’m hoping events like Education Rocks! will encourage everybody in Warwick to support our teachers and kids.”
