These Disney princesses are far from demure

This February marks the first MainStage Series show at Prima’s new theater. The organization now offers a home for fresh theatrical experiences in Lancaster, and is taking on “Disenchanted,” a musical comedy, playing Feb. 1 through 23.

In this hilarious vaudeville-style show, the original storybook heroines present subversive, not-for-kids “true stories” behind the tales as old as time. In order to set the record straight, these royal renegades toss off their tiaras, replacing sugary duets and animated teapots with songs that expose the juicy details of each princess’s life post-happily ever after.

The Prima venue opened in late 2018 on the west side of Lancaster City, and includes free on-site parking, plush seating, a 200-person capacity, and state-of-the-art technology. For “Disenchanted “the theater will be set like a vaudeville club, with a cash/credit bar open for purchases before the show and during intermission.

Prima’s new venue is located at 941 Wheatland Ave,. Suite A, Lancaster. To learn more about tickets, showtimes, and pricing, visit primalancaster.org or call 717-327-5124.
