Dazzling Debbie of Lititz: Local resident is lead organizer for upcoming fundraiser

By on August 21, 2019

Debbie Luther of Lititz loves to give back to her community.

The owner behind Dazzling Daizy Designs (a business that creates romantic and retro adornments) she’s also busy organizing the upcoming Vintage Revival Market, with a portion of the proceeds of the event going to a local charity.

The market, which takes place in Lancaster Aug. 24, first began in 2012 with several vintage lovers who would meet and trade textiles, apparel, household items, and Pyrex.

“Through my participation with the Vintage Revival Market events, I first began to assist at markets and then became the organizer,” Luther said.

The first event under her leadership took place last spring at Akron Church of the Brethren.

“As the new face behind the market, I am adding more markets in alternative locations,” she said. “I am now hoping to increase how often we have the markets and add some new dynamics to the market — for instance, this summer’s market incorporates several local food trucks, a DJ and Space, Lancaster as the ‘anchor’ of the market.”

“Vintage Revival Market has always been non-profit — proceeds always go to a charity,” she added. “The summer market’s charity of choice is Speranza Animal Rescue, and they will be there with some of their rescues. We are collecting toys and treats for the large breed dog, as well as money from the raffles and other donations will be provided to them.”

Shoppers can select from about 50 vintage vendors, with a few handmade vendors added in.

“We will have everything from mid-century modern furniture, lighting and housewares, to record albums,” she said. “Men’s and women’s vintage apparel will be plentiful, but this won’t be a yard sale. Our vendors take a lot of pride in finding high quality true vintage items from prior to the 1970s and clean, press, and present the apparel in a department store way.”

“My goal is to provide a friendly, comfortable place for vintage lovers to share their wares with each other and with the community, and at the same time, being able to donate to a charitable organization,” Luther added.

The gathering will be utilizing two former stores at the Shops at Rockvale. The first 50 people in line will receive a goodie bag with items given by vendors. Photo opportunities will also be available with Speranza rescues. Food trucks scheduled include Dough and Co., Nice Size Fries, Mad Dash Artisan Grilled Cheese and Penny’s Ice Cream.

Vintage Revival Market will take place Aug. 24 at the Shops at Rockvale in Lancaster from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visit Vintage Revival Market on Facebook for more information.
