Central PA Broadway World honors local thespians

Winners have been announced for the 2016 BroadwayWorld Central PA theater awards, and a number of Lancaster County theaters, actors, directors, sound and lighting designers, choreographers, and costumers have won.

More than 70 regional theaters competed in the on-line contest. Lancaster County winners won as many as other areas combined, winning 12 of the 24 awarded. Judges were readers of the site.

Winners in our coverage area included:

Best Actor in a Play: Dan Deal – “Sherlock Holmes: The Detective & The Doctor” – Servant Stage Company

Best Director for a Play: Michael Swanson – “Glengarry Glen Ross” – Ephrata Performing Arts Center

Best Featured Actress in a Play: Elizabeth Pattey – “The Heiress” – Ephrata Performing Arts Center
