Rizzetta’s Tones coming to Eicher Arts

Rizzetta’s Tones, an American Celtic World Band, will perform March 15, at 2 p.m., in a St. Patrick’s Day-themed program at the Eicher Arts Center, located at 409 Cocalico St. in Grater Community Park, Ephrata.

The band members sing and play such instruments as hammered dulcimers, silver flute, high and low whistles, and guitars. Although the band’s repertoire includes music from a variety of countries, for the March 15 program it will feature nearly all Celtic music, including Dougie MacLean songs, such as “This Love Will Carry” and “Caledonia.”

The band’s name honors Sam Rizzetta of West Virginia, who has, over several decades, been building and improving hammered dulcimers, composing music for them and helping revive their use.

The March 15 concert kicks off the center’s 2015 season of admission-free cultural and entertainment events. Donations to the center will be accepted. Refreshments will be provided. To learn more, visit facebook.com/EicherArtsCenter.
