Broadway’s Rob McClure coming to Lancaster

Actor Rob McClure, who’s currently starring in the Tony-nominated Broadway musical “Beetlejuice,” will present his one man show “Smile! A Cabaret with Broadway’s Rob McClure” at The Ware Center in Lancaster on Sept. 30.

McClure’s program will feature hits from his Broadway career, including shows like “Honeymoon in Vegas,” “Avenue Q,” “Chaplin,” and “Something Rotten.”

“‘Smile’ came about as an opportunity to share myself with audiences in an intimate way I hadn’t done before,” McClure said. “Not immersed in the grand, larger narrative world of a Broadway show, but small impactful stories from my personal journey. I use some of my favorite songs to tell those stories. I wanted a chance to connect with audiences on another level.”

McClure says that audiences should expect to laugh and to be inspired by his upcoming show at The Ware Center.

“My life has been a wild ride thus far, and hopefully, my stories will rekindle a fire both in me and my audience,” he said. “I’m an optimist. ‘Smile’ tells the story of where that optimism first lit, and what keeps it burning.”

This fall, McClure is set to play the lead role in the upcoming “Mrs. Doubtfire” at 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle.
