Families will gather on June 10, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., rain or shine, to enjoy homemade chicken corn soup and strawberries with ice cream and cake at Old Zion Church’s annual strawberry social.

Old Zion Church, Reifsnyder Road, Brickerville will host its 39th annual strawberry social on Saturday, June 10, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., rain or shine.

Attendees can enjoy luscious strawberries over cake, with or without vanilla ice cream prepared by Fox Meadow Creamery, and whipped cream, plus a drink, for $5.

Kettle cooked, homemade chicken corn soup will be sold for $3. All proceeds go toward maintaining the church’s historic property for both current and future generations to appreciate and enjoy.

Those who plan to attend should bring lawn chairs, blankets, and trays, ad the food will be eaten on the expanse of grass which covers the church’s property. Take time to visit the cemetery, which dates to the time of the Revolutionary War, and take a walking tour through the 204-year-old church to learn about Old Zion’s colorful history from board members.
