AJ’s Pop-up Mini-Golf benefits Hurst family

By on August 29, 2018

Despite a postponement due to rainy weather, AJ’s Pop-Up Mini-Golf had a successful third year. The 15-hole miniature golfcourse was open Aug. 25 and 26 at the home of Tim and Marni Van Grouw, 29 Whitcraft Drive, Warwick Township.

More than 200 people played the course, reported Marni Van Grouw, and eight people got a hole-in-one on the bonus Lego Movie hole.

All admission fees and donations were given to the Nathan Hurst family of Lancaster, which includes wife Jenn, and kids Kai and Brody. Mr. Hurst recently received a cancer diagnosis and all money raised is going to help pay for medical bills and costs associated with traveling for treatment. The event raised just over $1,200.

The complex and popular course had a movie theme this year. Notable were the “Shrek,” “Cars” and “Titanic” holes. The Westview Golf Course donated several putters and balls for the family’s golf course.

A 15 hole mini golf course sounds like it would be a lot of fun to play on. Maybe it would be good to go mini golfing sometime soon. Then I would be able to bring in some fun and entertainment into my life soon.
