Local flavor: Taste of Lititz set for June 3

By on May 11, 2016

Taste of Lititz, the downtown community celebration of everything local, is less than a month away.

East Main Street will be blocked off from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 3, so friends and family can mingle while tasting cuisine from local restaurants, sampling beers and wines from local breweries and wineries, admiring the work of local artists, and listening to the sounds of local musicians.

It’s a festival of local culture.

And there will be plenty of games and activities for the kids, including pretzel corn hole, Cedar Street bowling, duck decorating, a drum circle, caricatures, silly seconds competitions, and much more. Some of the activities require a ticket, which can be purchased at the event.

Food and beverage vendors include Rooster Street Butcher, Chilango’s, Cafe Chocolate, Appalachian Brewing Company, JoBoy’s, Bulls Head Public House, Scooter’s, Tomato Pie Cafe, Spill, Renewal Kombucha, A Tea Affair, Isabella’s Ice Cream, Isaac’s Deli, JB Kelly, Julius Sturgis, Roma Pizza, Stargazer, Sugar Whipped, Waltz Vineyards, Zest, and Dragonfly Cafe.

Live music performances spaced throughout the downtown area include Matt Wenger, Tonic for Dogma, the Lititz Community Band, and Melvin and the Overtones. Barbershop and string quartets are also in the mix.

There will also be a silent auction and a community art gallery that will fuse with a special art exhibit at Lititz Historical Foundation.

It’s all local, from the Memorial Square at Broad Street to the Church Square in front of the Moravian Congregation. Mark your calendars and plan to join the party!

And look for more details about the event in upcoming issues of the Record Express.
