Warwick basketball coach Chris Christensen was recently added to the slate of judges for the Fire & Ice Chili Cook-off.

He was a four-year member of the men’s basketball program at Shenandoah University from 2007-2011. After college, Christensen went on to begin his coaching career as an assistant at Manheim Township before becoming the head boys basketball coach at Warwick.

“When I was asked to be judge for the Chili Cook-Off I absolutely jumped at the opportunity,” said Christensen. “I am excited to be part of this year’s Fire & Ice Festival.”

Christensen joins fellow judges Holly Love and Jon Gosselin, already announced. Chili Cook-off buttons are available for purchase at Bombergers Store, Dosie Dough, and Stauffers of Kissel Hill for $8 prior to the event, and $10 at the door, if any remain available.

The Chili Cook-off is set for Saturday, Feb. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Warwick High School cafeteria. At the same time, a Winter Carnival for kids will be taking place in the school gym, and a Vendor Fair in the hallways.

An outdoor Block Party featuring the signature ice sculptures, food, and entertainment, will take place Friday, Feb. 12, from 5 to 9 p.m., downtown and in Lititz Springs Park.

A dodgeball tournament will be held Valentine’s Day in the high school gym, and a community movie night is set for that evening at Linden Hall.

The ice sculptures will be displayed through the end of the day on Monday. For details, visit lititzfireandicefestival.com.
