Numerous college soccer coaches, including these three (pictured above) from Kutztown University and elsewhere, turned out in Lititz last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 27-29, to scout potential recruits at the 7th annual Lititz Summer Showcase. The event was another big success, with nearly 350 games being played on 25 fields throughout Lititz. Overall, 188 teams competed during the weekend, and despite hot weather, there were no games canceled or delayed due to rain. That included showcase exhibition games on Friday night, where Tamara Lalovic (shown at right) maneuvered at midfield to set up a scoring opportunity during action on Joseph Grosh Field. In addition to the Warwick High School and Middle School campus, games were also played at the Warwick Linear Park, Forney Field in Rothsville and Bonfield Elementary School. Look in the Aug. 9 edition of the Record Express for more details about this year's event.
