Jack and Floy Uibel celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 20 with a family dinner.

Jack and Floy met at Malschnee’s General Store in 1953, when Jack came in for a Coke and Floy was the clerk. They later ran the store as Uibel’s General Store in Penryn from 1955 to 1976. Jack served as the Postmaster of Penryn from 1967 until his retirement in 1993.

Jack and Floy still reside in Penryn, where they are active members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and Floy sings in the church choir. Jack serves as the president of the Penryn Cemetery Association and still hunts arrowheads.

They have four daughters, all of whom are teachers, and 11 grandchildren, all of whom are still trying to keep up with them.
