Jack and Mauricette (Roeder) Stauffer, of Lititz, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this week.

The two were married on April 8, 1954 in Paris, France, by a court judge in a civil ceremony. Jack met Mauricette (a.k.a. “Gi-Gi”) the first time he visited Paris in September 1952. He was stationed at Laon Air Force Base. Gi-Gi was born in Criel, France.

The couple celebrated their nuptials at dinner with Gi-Gi’s sister, Simone, and brother-in-law, Fred, along with nine of Jack’s buddies from the Air Police. After dinner, they all continued the celebration at the Moulin Rouge.

A stateside wedding was held with Jack’s family in attendance when they returned to Lititz, at Lititz Trinity Church.

Mauricette worked at J.B. Hess as a garment presser from 1956 to 1964, then at Warner-Lambert until 1990. Jack retired from Warner-Lambert in 1994.
