Schmidts married 50 years

Gary and Terry Schmidt will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Saturday, Aug.26.

Gary and Terry were married at Brick Presbyterian Church in Brick Town, N.J., on Aug. 26, 1967.

Gary graduated from Brick Township High School and attended Franklin & Marshall College before starting his auto repair business, Gary Schmidt’s Garage, in Lititz.

Terry also graduated from Brick Township High School. She earned her nursing diploma at Cooper Hospital School of Nursing in Camden, N.J. Terry has worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years and is currently employed by Cornerstone Family Health Associates of Lititz.

Gary is an elder and one of the founding members of New Covenant Christian Church in Washington Boro. Gary and Terry have been serving at NCCC over 30 years. They have both enjoyed doing mission trips to many countries such as Haiti, Mexico, and Peru. When they are not serving others, they enjoy traveling, spending time with family, and most recently, flying adventures in their light-sport plane.

They are blessed with two children: John, married to Theresa; and Stephanie, married to David Hench; and one grandchild, Jordan.

The couple will celebrate their milestone at a party with family and friends, followed by a trip to Europe.
