Lititz -
The following police reports were released by the Lititz Borough Police
Department: • CAR FLIPS — On July 18, at 1:50 p.m.,
police investigated an accident at the intersection of South Broad and
Orange streets. Robert E. Sturgill, II, of Drumore, was southbound and went
through a red light, striking a vehicle driven by Carl R. Gehman, of
Ephrata, forcing Gehman's vehicle to flip onto the driver's side. A
third vehicle, driven by John J. Burbee, of New Hampshire, prevented Gehman
from rolling over completely. Lititz and Brunnerville firefighters used the
"jaws of life" to remove Gehman from his vehicle. Warwick
Ambulance took both Gehman and Burbee to Lancaster General Hospital.
Sturgill is being charged with a red light violation. Warwick Township
Police also assisted at the scene, as did fire police from Lititz,
Brunnerville and Rothsville.
• ASSAULT — On July 16,
police were dispatched to the 100 block of North Broad Street for a
domestic violence incident. Police met with the victim, Latoya Sanchez, and
her three year old son. Both had been injured by Sanchez's boyfriend,
Ryan L. Walmer. Police located and arrested Walmer, who was arraigned and
committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $2,500 cash
bail.
• REAR-ENDED — A vehicle driven by Christopher
Gonneville, 34, of Mercersburg, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by
Brenda Walker, 57, of Millersville, in the first block of South Broad
Street at 3:50 p.m. on July 16. No injuries were reported. From
July 11 to July 17, Lititz police responded to 106 incidents, ranging from
drug violations to loud music. Due to ongoing investigations and
administrative discretion, not all police calls are reported in this
edition of the newspaper.
