The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company responded to the following
incidents during the month of June: • VEHICLE ACCIDENT
— June 5 at 7 Twin Brook Road for a vehicle into a PPL pole with no
injuries. 1 engine, 12 firefighters, 1 fire police responded, traveled .5
mile and we were in service 21 minutes. Assisting was the Warwick Township
and Lititz Borough Police Depts.
• VEHICLE ACCIDENT —
June 8 at 1501 E. Newport Road for a vehicle accident involving a horse and
buggy. 1 engine, squad, ambulance, 13 firefighters, 3 fire police, 5
ambulance personnel responded, traveled 2.5 miles and we were in service 38
minutes. Assisting was the Warwick Township Police and Lititz Police
Depts., Warwick Ambulance and Ephrata Ambulance, and Medic 4 and
12.
• PUBLIC SERVICE — June 14 at the intersection of
Santa Fe Drive and Briar Hill Road for a cat in the storm drain. Chief, 3
firefighters responded, traveled 2 miles and we were in service 20
minutes.
• VEHICLE FIRE — June 15 at 1223 E. Newport Road
for a vehicle fire next to a dwelling. 2 engines, squad, 20 firefighters, 1
fire police responded, traveled 3 miles and we were in service 1 hour and 8
minutes. Assisting was Warwick Township and Lititz Borough Police
Depts.
• VEHICLE ACCIDENT — June 17 at Homestead Drive
and E. Newport Road for a vehicle accident involving 4 vehicles with
injuries. 1 engine, squad, ambulance, 14 firefighters, 4 fire police, 2
ambulance personnel responded, traveled 1 mile and we were in service 23
minutes. Assisting was the Warwick Township Police and Lititz Borough
Police Depts.
• AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM — June 18 at 2320
Rothsville Road for an automatic fire alarm that was false due to workers
working on heating and cooling system. 1 engine, 7 firefighters responded,
traveled 1 mile and we were in service 11 minutes.
• ASSIST
CALL — June 18 at 604 Oak Street for an assist to Akron Fire Co. on
an automatic fire alarm but we were cancelled in station. 2 firefighters, 1
fire police responded, traveled no miles and we were in service 1
minute.
• DWELLING FIRE — June 29 at 8 Santa Fe Drive for
a dwelling fire with major fire damage to garage, second floor above
garage, and attic area. Neighbor's home had melted siding. 2 engines,
squad, ambulance, 28 firefighters, 5 fire police, 5 ambulance personnel
responded, traveled 3 miles and we were in service 3 hours 11 minutes.
Assisting was Upper Leacock Fire Co. air 3-11, Akron Fire Co. engine 1-2-1,
Ephrata Fire Co. engine 1-5-2 and truck 1-5, West Earl Fire Co. engine 3-13
and tanker 3-13, Ephrata Rescue 1-15, Brunnerville Fire Co. tanker 2-2,
Farmersville Fire Co. tanker 3-5, Lititz Fire Co. truck 2-5, Lincoln Fire
Co. transferred and engine to Rothsville Fire Station for stand-by, and
Warwick Township Police Dept.. The Rothsville Volunteer Fire
Company responded to 8 incidents for the month of June. Responding to those
calls were 99 firefighters, 15 fire police, 12 ambulance personnel, no
junior firefighters, traveled 13 miles and we were in service 6 hours and
13 minutes.
