Ruth H. Wolfe, 82, of 477 Fruitville Pike, Manheim, died peacefully
surrounded by her family on Monday, June 30, 2008.
Born in Penn
Township, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. and Katie Hershey
Eshleman.
Ruth worked in the food service department for the Manheim
Auto Auction for 42 years; she also was employed for 18 years as a
seamstress in the costume department at Sight and Sound Millennium Theatres
Strasburg.
She was the wife of John C. Wolfe and they observed their
57th wedding anniversary in April of this year. Ruth and her husband were
part of the founding members of Speedwell Heights Brethren In Christ
Church, Lititz, where they served as deacons for 29 years. She was active
with the Christian Motorcycle Association and enjoyed knitting and quilting
for her children and grandchildren. Ruth was known throughout the area for
her fabulous stitch work and seemed to always have a project in
process.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Gerald
husband of Suzanne Shearer Wolfe of Elm; Clifford husband of Marjorie Erb
Wolfe of Mount Joy; two daughters, Marilyn wife of James Hoffsmith Jr. of
Manheim; Betty wife of J. Michael Yoder of Lititz; nine grandchildren, five
great-grandchildren, two sisters, Velma Hershey and Mildred Bollinger both
of Manheim. She was preceded in death by a brother, J. Mark Eshleman and a
sister, Arlene Spoo.
Relatives and friends attended her funeral
service from the Manheim Brethren In Christ Church, Manheim, on July 7.
Interment was in Graybills Brethren Cemetery Elm.
