Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Naomi Kirschner Fritz. Wendy was married to Jeffrey L. Spangler for 31 years last Feb. 6.
She was a 1971 graduate of Warwick High School. Wendy worked at the Lititz Weis Markets after High School, next as a secretary for Lititz District Justice Sharon Simkins, then in data processing for Susquehanna Bancshares corporate offices for 19 years and lastly as a secretary for F.M.I. Wendy was a lifelong member of Lititz Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, where she volunteered in the nursery and for church projects. She enjoyed doing cross stitch needlework and jigsaw puzzles, which she shared with friends and family. Wendy was a very patient and loving person. She loved cats and dogs and spending time in the mountains in Huntington County.
Wendy dearly loved her husband: Jeffrey: her step-daughters: Jennifer Spangler, Brickerville and Jolynn Spangler, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers: Kerry Fritz, Lancaster, Rick Fritz, Kane, and Kent Fritz, Lititz; sisters: Donna Fritz, Perryville, Md., Heidi Minnich, Jonestown, and Jodei Taylor, Manheim; and many nieces and nephews.
The Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at Lititz Trinity E.C. Church, 44 E. Orange St., with Pastor Nathan Fry officiating. Wendy’s family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church on Saturday. Interment will be private.
