Thomas L. Steffy, 86, Commonwealth Bank retiree, Lititz Community Band drummer

Thomas L. Steffy, 86, of United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital Oct. 25, 2015.

Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Thomas W. and Ada Lehn Steffy, and husband of the late Catherine Adams Steffy, who passed away in 2003.

A graduate of Lititz High School and Lancaster Business College, Tom started his career in banking at the Conestoga Bank. He retired in 1987 from the Commonwealth Bank, Lititz branch, where he worked for 35 years. Tom was a member of Jerusalem Church in Penryn. He enjoyed horses and played the drums in the Lititz Community Band.

He is survived by his sister: Ruth Spahr of Lititz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his sisters: Mabelle Sharp, Arlene Landis, Anna Young, Florence Steffy; and brothers: John Steffy Jr, Eugene Steffy, and Roy Steffy.

Family and friends are invited to the Richard H. Heisey Funeral Home, 216 S. Broad St., Lititz on Thursday, Oct. 29, for a viewing from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Johnathan Shirk officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
