Shirley M. Stief, 80, Fleet Air retiree, collected porcelain dolls, crazy about her grandchildren

Shirley M. Stief, 80, formerly of Ephrata, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Luther Acres Manor.

She was born in Clay Township to the late Fred and Mary (Hartranft) Knoll, and was the wife of the late Albert B. Stief Jr., with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.

Shirley worked for Alsam Shoe Factory, Lititz; before retiring from Fleet Air, Ephrata. She was a long time member of the Ephrata AMVET Post No. 136 and VFW Cloister Post No. 3376. She enjoyed flower gardening, collecting porcelain dolls, and was a Green Bay Packers fan. Her grandchildren were always the light of her life. She supported them in all their activities and spent time with them whenever she could.

Shirley is survived by a son: Rick, husband of Tammy (Sweigart) Stief, of Ephrata; a daughter: Bonnie Shepp, fiancée of Stan Kulikowski Jr., of Lititz; four grandchildren: Dustin, Stephanie, Cody, and Stacey; and many nieces and nephews. She was the last of her siblings.

Services were held Dec. 28 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Walter Carter officiating. Interment was in the Rothsville Lutheran Cemetery.
