Robert W. ‘Bob’ Heffner, 86, Korea vet, Kuzan’s Hardware worker, enjoyed raising fruit trees

Robert W. “Bob” Heffner, 86, of Lititz, and formerly of Greenfields of Reading, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at the United Zion Retirement Community.
Born in Topton, he was the son of the late Willie and Florence Warmkessel Heffner. Bob was the loving husband of Myrle K. Hertzog Heffner, and they observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in August of this year.
He was a member of Seyfert Wesleyan Church, Birdsboro. Bob worked in customer service for Kuzan’s True Value Hardware, in Shoemakersville. A veteran, Bob humbly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 1463, Lititz, and the American Legion Reber-Moore Post, Shillington. He enjoyed doing yardwork and raising fruit trees. Over the years Bob and Myrle opened their home to many people of all walks of life who felt so fortunate to become life-long friends and considered many like family.
Surviving in addition to his wife: Myrle; is a niece: Maureen A., wife of Dana Logan, of Myerstown; and extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bob’s memorial service at Seyfert Wesleyan Church, 2 Maple Road, Birdsboro, on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Bob’s memory to United Zion Retirement Community Care Fund, 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz. PA 17543.
