Richard (Dick) V. Ross Sr., 86, Korean War vet, Woodstream retiree, liked old-time country music, cars

Richard (Dick) V. Ross Sr., 86, of Lititz, passed away on Oct. 23, 2018.

He was born in Union, Oregon, and raised in North Carolina. Dick and his wife, Patricia were married for 45 years, and had six children.

He retired in 2004 from Woodstream Corporation, where he worked as a machinist for over 30 years. Dick had also worked at New Holland Machine Company.

In the Korean War, he was a Navy Electronics Technician 3rd Class and served on Midway Island. He graduated from McCaskey High School. Dick enjoyed working on cars and gardening and old-time country music.

He is survived by his children: Richard, Ronald, Sharon, and Robert; six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He is also survived by his brothers: Paul and Blaine Story; and his sister: Patricia Story.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Patricia (Spangler); his children: Teresa and James, and his sister: Jeanetta Chambers.

Services were held Oct. 29 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, Lititz. Interment was at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster.
