Orpha H. Ecenroad, 88, worked at Richland Knitting, Middle Creek COB member, quilter

Orpha H. (Crouse) Ecenroad, 88, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at Fairmount Homes.

She was born in Myerstown to the late Irvin and Sue (Harnly) Crouse, and was the wife of the late William Ecenroad Jr., who passed away in 2014.

She was a member of Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, Lititz, and a former deaconess at Heidelberg Church of the Brethren. She was also a Sunday school teacher.

Orpha was a homemaker and previously was a seamstress for Richland Knitting Mill before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed volunteering at Fairmount Homes.

Orpha is survived by a son: Bruce, husband of Denise (Rudolph) Ecenroad of Schaefferstown; a daughter: Kay, wife of Glenn Weaver of Lititz; a daughter-in-law: Rosene (Troutman) Ecenroad; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Garry Ecenroad; two brothers: Jay and Leon Crouse; and a sister: Edith Ziegler.

A memorial service was held Oct. 5 at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, Lititz, with Pastor John Hess and Pastor Paul Brubaker officiating. Interment was private in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Orpha’s memory may be made to Fairmount Homes Benevolent Fund, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, PA, 17522.
