Nancy M. Graybill 86, Lititz Art Association and Historical Society member
Nancy M. Graybill, 86, passed away at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 following a brief illness.
Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Mary Fink Graybill. Previously of Lancaster, she resided with her nephew, Jack Hubley and his wife Tina in Lititz for the last eight years.
A member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lancaster, her mission in life was to care for others. A longtime secretary at Armstrong, Nancy retired early so she could care for her mother and in later years, for her sister and brother-in- law, the late Dorothy G. and John Hubley, Jr.
Nancy was self-taught in the arts, and enjoyed painting with oils, going to musical performances and attending local art shows. She was a member of the Demuth Foundation, Towne Club of Lancaster, and the Lititz Art Association. Nancy was an accomplished seamstress and was always impeccably dressed in the clothes she made for herself.
A graduate of Manheim Township Class of 1944, she remained an active member of her class and was a former member of the Lutheran Historical Society and Lititz Historical Society.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service for Nancy at the St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, PA 17601, on Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. with a visitation one half hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
She is survived by her nephew: John A. (Jack) Hubley III, husband of Christina Hubley, Lititz; two grandnieces: Amber Hubley Murr, wife of Scott Murr, Lancaster; Jade Hubley, Lititz and one great-grandniece: Blake Murr, daughter of Amber and Scott.
Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
