Linda Lou Rannels, 70, director of Shared Ride Services at Red Rose Transit, Hospice volunteer, adventure enthusiast

Linda Lou Rannels, 70, of Columbia and formerly of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017, at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late David and Ruth Ashenfelter Rosser. She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth B. Rannels who died in 2006.

Linda graduated from Donegal High School in 1964 and received her master’s degree from Myerstown Evangelical Seminary, and completed her undergraduate degree from West Chester University. She retired as the director of Shared Ride Services at Red Rose Transit, Lancaster. Linda was a member of Hosanna Christian Fellowship, Lititz. She volunteered for Hospice and Community Care and enjoyed mission work in Guatemala. An adventure enthusiast, Linda loved traveling, reading, knitting, gardening and learning in all forms.

Surviving is a daughter: Amber, wife of Courteney Haas, of Columbia; brother: David, husband of Christine Rosser, of Maytown; a sister: Janell, wife of Verle Nolt, of Conestoga. She is also survived by her companion: Ernie Passarelli of Philadelphia.

Linda was preceded in death by a brother: Leroy Houdeshel.

Services were held March 16 at Hosanna Christian Fellowship, Lititz. Interment was in Ruhl’s United Methodist Cemetery, Rapho Township.
