John P. Kiehl, 81, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Moravian Manor, Lititz.

Born February 15, 1930, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John H. and Catherine M. (Etter) Kiehl. He was first married to Emma Kiehl. Following Emma’s death, John married Helen (Geyer) Kiehl. Helen died March 18, 2003.

A veteran, John proudly served as a corporal with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. John retired from Ford New Holland where he worked for 20 years.

He is survived by his sister: Kathleen M., wife of Miley T. Sheaffer, of Reading; nieces: Cynthia Siple; Joyce Martin; and Sandy Newcomer; and a nephew: Edward H. Fisher. He was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Kiehl.

Funeral services were held at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, Millersville, July 29, with the Rev. Ann M. Osborne officiating. Interment took place in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
