Jay M. Heisey, 60, farmer, attended Manheim BIC, loved giving four-wheeler rides to his grandkids

Jay M. Heisey, 60, of Manheim, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Mary Ellen Haines Heisey of Lititz and the late Martin Heisey. He was the loving husband of Karen J. Long Heisey, and they celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in June.

Jay owned and operated his farm in Rapho Township. He also enjoyed carpentry. Jay attended Manheim Brethren in Christ Church. His passion in life was his family; and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren, especially giving them four-wheeler rides. Jay also enjoyed the outdoors and loved animals.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five children: Stephanie, wife of Tony Barnhart, of Manheim; Tara, wife of Chris Showalter, of Denver; Renee, wife of Mikael Kristiansen, of Baltimore; Jenna, wife of Michael Logan, of Manheim; and Jordan Heisey of Manheim; nine grandchildren: Weston, Sierra, Leah, and Wyatt Barnhart; Gretchen, Allyson, and Brayden Showalter; Freya and Fiona Kristiansen.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Cheyenne Barnhart.

A celebration of life service service was held July 30 at Manheim Brethren In Christ Church, Manheim. Interment will be private.
