Harold Samuel Shaak Sr., 91, Buddy Homes retiree, IOOF member, enjoyed tinkering, traveling

Harold Samuel Shaak Sr. passed away peacefully Dec. 23, 2016, at Middletown Home, at the age of 91.

He was the son of the late Samuel J. and Savannah M. (Dull) Shaak, and the husband of the late Elva E. Shaak, who passed away Dec. 3.

He is survived by his children: Harold S. Jr. and wife Joan; Mary Ellen and husband Jim Hudson; Stanley R. and companion Pat Rinehart; Michael D. and wife Diane, all of Lititz; and numerous grand-, great-grand-, and great-great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by a brother and a stepsister.

Harold was a long standing member of IOOF (Independent Order of Odd Fellows), American Legion, and numerous additional organizations throughout his life. He had retired from Buddy Homes, but continued to work part time for Senco until 2000.

He was an outgoing and positive person. He enjoyed working with mechanical equipment, tinkering, collecting toy cars/trucks, and traveling.

A small gathering to remember Harold will take place from 10 to 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home andCrematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Brickerville.
