Florence G. Zeager Saylor87, farmer, did ministry work

Florence G. Zeager Saylor, 87, passed to her eternal home Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011 at Landis Homes, Lititz.

She was born in Conoy Township on Dec. 10, 1923 to Clayton and Dora Good. She was married to Glenn Zeager on March 30, 1946. He died in 1997. She married William Saylor on March 3, 1999, and he died in 2003.

After farming in Conoy Township, Florence moved with her late husband, Glenn Zeager, to New York City in 1954, and in 1975 they returned to the Harrisburg area. She was involved with Glenn, an ordained minister, in various urban Mennonite Church ministries and business interests. They became residents of Landis Homes in the early 1990’s.

She is survived by one brother: Paul, of Harrisonburg, Va.; numerous nieces and nephews; and three stepsons: Elvin Burkholder, David Ristenbatt and Jesse Saylor.

She was predeceased by sisters: Elsie Shenk, Verna Gish, Mary Miller, Ada Miller and Emma Briskey; and a brother: Norman Good.

A memorial service honoring the life of Florence was held on Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. in West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, Lititz, with Pastor Rodney Martin leading the service. The interment was held in Good’s Mennonite Church Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
