F. Arline Zimmerman, 93, published author, worked for MCC, WHO, and as a school nurse in Phila.

F. Arline Zimmerman, PhD, 93, of Lititz, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at Landis Homes.

She was born in Lancaster County to the late Milton B. and Florence (Jackson) Zimmerman.

She was a member of Pilgrims Mennonite Church. She received a master’s degree in nursing. She earned a Ph.D from the University of Pennsylvania. She published several books, served for a Mennonite Central Committee run orphanage in Pusan, South Korea; and the World Health Organization in Kurla, India. Arline also worked as a school nurse and nursing administrator for Philadelphia public schools.

Arline is survived by five siblings: Mary Yocum, Ruth Eckert, Carl, Earl, and Kenneth Zimmerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings: John Zimmerman, Laura Stauffer, Erma Birky, Amos, Addy, Roy, and Clyde Zimmerman.

Graveside services were held Sept. 25 at Hinkletown Mennonite Cemetery, with memorial services at Pilgrims Mennonite Church at Mennonite Central Committee, Akron, with Pastor Barry Kreider officiating.
