Ethel F. Shaffer, 93, Manheim, JCPenney clerk, attended God’s Missionary Church

Ethel F. Shaffer, 93, of Manheim, died peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 at the Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community.

Born in Alexandria, Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Hattie Mentzer Taylor. Ethel was the loving wife of the late Foster B. Shaffer, who died in June of 1998.

Ethel worked as a sales clerk for the JCPenney, Lancaster store. She attended God’s Missionary Church, Lebanon.

Surviving is a son: Rudy A., husband of Rhoda E. Keller Shaffer of Manheim; two daughters: Vivian E. Shaffer of Manheim; Denise F., wife of James Cruce of Lebanon; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is a grandson, two brothers, and three sisters.

Services were held Feb. 24 at Buch Funeral Home, Manheim. Interment was in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster.
