Erma W. Martin, 71, homemaker, White Oak Mennonite Church member

Erma W. Martin, 71, of Manheim, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at her home, after a battle with cancer.

She was the wife of Mahlon S. Martin. Born in Lancaster County, Erma was the daughter of the late Paul and Emma (Weaver) Garman.

She was a homemaker and a member of White Oak Mennonite Church. Erma greatly enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons: Nelson (Greta) Martin, Mechanicsville, Md.; Neil Martin, Lancaster; Nevin (Suzanne) Martin, Lititz; Nathan (Judith) Martin, Elverta, Calif.; five daughters: Nancy (Stephen) Zehr, Croghan, N.Y.; Janice (Nathan) Mast, Dominican Republic, West Indies; Joanne (David) Erb, Lebanon; Joyce (Darnell) Martin, Cambridge Springs; Jeanelle (Gerald) Bicher, Bethel; 46 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers: Leon Garman, Ephrata; Luke (Mary Ann) Garman, Denver; Lawrence (Anna Mary) Garman, Quarryville; Landis Garman, Mount Gretna; Lamar (Eileen) Garman, Denver; and four sisters: Anna (Leon) Musser, Manheim; Martha Jane (Phares) Hurst, Leola; Esther Mae (Robert) Burkholder, Millerstown; and Irene Showalter, New Holland.

Funeral services for Erma will be held at White Oak Mennonite Church, 2456 Newport Road, Manheim, on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. There will be a public viewing at the church on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
