Deaths of Local Interest
Annis E. Denlinger, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She resided at Landis Homes of Lititz for the last 18 years, formerly residing in Gap.
Robert Smeltz Goshkey, 85, of Lancaster entered into rest Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 after a brief illness. His stepson, Tim Gerhart, lives in Lititz.
Elmira H. Leibig, 91, of Cornwall, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013. She was born in Penryn on April 14, 1922. Her daughter: Susan West and five grandchildren: Jennifer, Brian, Abbey, Benjamin Leibig and Christopher West all live in Lititz.
Jay Robert Martin, 79, of Farmington, Conn., died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, after a two-year sickness of end-stage renal disease. His sister, Rhoda, wife of the late Clarence L. Weaver, lives in Lititz.
H. William “Bill” Mitchell passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013. Bill was a long-time active member of the LititzMoravian congregation and participated in many groups and committees. Additionally, he served with the Penn-Mar Mission Society and the Lancaster County Council of Churches.
Robert E. Mowrer, 86, formerly of Columbia and Conestoga, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Moosehaven, Orange Park, Fla. His daughter, LuAnn, lives in Rothsville.
Freda Myers, 80, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at her residence surrounded by people she loved and those who loved her. She was born in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Margaret (Myers) Miller. Her sister, Patricia Nock, lives in Lititz.
Angela J. Sherman, 47, formerly of Manheim, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 in Zephyr Cove, Nevada. Angela attended Manheim Central High School. Her sisters: Lisa Pfautz and Melinda Esbenshade, both live in Lititz.
Ida Steely, 95, of Ephrata, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Hamilton Arms Center, Lancaster. Grace was a member of the Lititz Senior Center. During her working years, she worked for Wilbur Chocolate, Brunnerville Grocery Store and then retired from Denver Shoe Store.
Walter M. Zimmerman, 79, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Lincoln Christian Home. His son, Carl, husband of Martha (Hoover) Zimmerman, lives in Lititz.
