Deaths of Local Interest – April 6, 2017

Arthur Lengacher Jr., 68, of Gordonville, passed away March 30 at home. At the age of four, Art emigrated from Solothurn, Switzerland, with his mother and two sisters to Brewster, Ohio, to join his father, who had come to America six months earlier to seek a better life for his family. At the age of six, he moved to Kinzers. He worked at Lengacher’s Swiss Cheese House alongside his father and mother, eventually purchasing the business with his wife, Anne. In 1996, he took a position with Land O’Lakes as a milk inspector. Art loved visiting the dairy farms in the area, getting to know not only the owners, but also their cows, for which he had a soft spot in his heart. His sister, Heidi, wife of Dr. Michael Cohen, lives in Lititz

Kenneth N. Marsh, 72, of Denver, passed away March 28 at Lancaster General Hospital. Ken was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ken loved spending time having family cookouts, taking drives in his Camaro, being outdoors, and taking short trips with his wife, Sharon. His son, Richard, husband to Judy Marsh, lives in Lititz.
