Dagan Robert Bailey, 23, avid motorcyclist, enjoyed several sports and reading, had a zeal for life

Dagan Robert Bailey, Lititz, was born at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, on Saturday, Oct. 23, 1993. Dagan was chosen to be called into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017.
Dagan lost his life due to injuries he sustained doing what he loved, riding motorcycle.
He was a graduate of Veritas Press Scholars Academy and had attended Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences.
Dagan’s charming smile, infectious laugh, and intensely loving hugs will be forever imprinted in our hearts. Dagan loved and cared about his family and friends with a passionate intensity that drove him to encourage others to be their absolute best and when they could not, he gently walked alongside them with grace and unending support. He was a fierce protector and defender of those he loved.
He had a zeal for life. He enjoyed basketball, soccer, running, boxing, snowboarding, and longboarding with his dog, Dutchess. Dagan was an avid reader and great debater. He was driven to learn, listen and grow. He had a great desire to experience the world around him through food and travel. Dagan was not slowed down by difficult circumstances that entered his life, he faced them with determination to overcome with justice and truth.
Dagan is survived by his mother: Rebekah S. Bailey; his father: Kevin R. Bailey; his brother: Cade Bailey; and his sister: Malon Bailey. Dagan is the grandson of: Walter Huss and Susan Huss Paul and Richard and Deborah Almond. He was well loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
As a family we are incredibly thankful for those who responded at the scene with quick thinking actions to care for Dagan. We are grateful to all the first responders, doctors, nurses, support staff at LGH and representatives from Gift of Life. Dagan’s last gift was giving part of himself to provide life to four others through organ donation.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to United Disability Services in Lancaster, attention: Service Dogs Training, and the Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster.
A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 6:30 p.m. A time to greet the family will follow. All are welcome to attend.
Dagan’s memorial page can be found at TheGroffs.com. Groff Funeral and Cremation Services, Lancaster, handled the arrangements.
