Carl D. Bomberger, 89, RCA retiree, father of two, Army/Navy vet, St. Paul Lutheran parishioner

Carl D. Bomberger, 89, of Lancaster, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

Born in Penryn, he was the son of the late Claude and Mary Dohner Bomberger. Carl was the husband of Greta Reimer Bomberger and they observed their 63rd wedding anniversary in August.

For many years Carl worked for the RCA Corp., Lancaster, until his retirement. A veteran, Carl served in the United States military in both the Navy and Army branches. He was an active and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Penryn.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Greta, is a daughter: Dorian Bomberger, married to Robert Miranda, of Oakton, Va.; a son: Kerry S. Bomberger, married to Denise Strohm Bomberger, of Manheim; three grandchildren: Deziree Bomberger, Alexandra and Nicholas Miranda; and a sister-in-law: Lois Irvin Bomberger of Manheim.

Preceding him in death is a brother: Isaac Bomberger.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Penryn Cemetery.
