Anna Mary Hurst
Brethren Village resident
Anna Mary Hurst, formerly of Akron, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Brethren Village, Lititz, of natural causes.
Born Dec. 6, 1927 in Hoernerstown to the late Thomas and Mary (Aungst) Patrick, she was the loving wife of Clair R. Hurst, with whom she shared 62 and one half years of marriage.
Anna Mary was a graduate of Hummelstown High School. During her working years, she was employed by Colebrook Terry Manufacturing, in Akron.
A long-time member of the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, Anna Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing, and traveling. Most of all, she enjoyed her family, and being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her husband Clair, with whom she lived in Brethren Village, she is survived by two sons: Michael of Ephrata and Bryan of Manheim.
Michael Hurst is married to Gwen. They have three children: Kelsey; Kaitlyn (both at home) and Ramona, who is married to Brent Martin. Ramona and Brent reside in Reamstown with their daughter Alexis.
Bryan Hurst is married to Joyce. They have three children: Meredith; Austin (both at home) and Erika, who is married to Ashley Martin. Erika and Ashley reside in Penryn with their son Hunter.
Anna Mary is also survived by three sisters: Sarah Nealy (Newville), Dorothy Seibert (Hummelstown) and Eleanor Kuntz (Harrisburg). Also surviving is a sister-in-law: Virginia Patrick (Hershey) and a brother-in-law: Cletus Hurst and wife, Faye (New Holland).
Anna Mary was preceded in death by a brother, John .
A funeral service was held Nov. 4 at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, Ephrata, with Pastor Galen Hackman officiating. Interment took place in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.
