Adaline Lydia Snyder, 85, Brethren Village nurse, mother of two, attended Lititz Church of God

Adaline Lydia (Bowen) Snyder, 85, formerly of Manheim, went to be with the Lord Friday evening, July 29, 2016, at the Mennonite Home after a two-month illness.

She was the wife of Charles R. Snyder, who passed April 29, 2016. Born July 2, 1931, at home, in New Cumberland, York County, she was the daughter of the late William and Leona Bowen of New Cumberland.

Addie, as many knew her, worked in the nursing field for several nursing homes in Lancaster County during a 25-year span, retiring from Brethren Village in 1998.

A Christian, Addie attended Newberrytown Church of God in York County from marriage in 1953 to 1973, when the family moved to Lancaster County and attended the Lititz Church of God for eight years. In 1981, Adaline became a member of First Church of God, Lancaster, singing in their senior choir those many years, until she was called home.

She will be lovingly extremely missed by her two daughters, and their husbands: Lynne M., married to J. Edward Geib, of Marietta; and Lorrie A., married to William L. Bingham, of Chambersburg; and by one grandchild: Charles William Bingham.

She was preceded in death by five older siblings: Vera, Glen, Merle, William, and Ethel.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from First Church of God, 344 W. Chestnut St., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Saturday morning, Aug. 6, 10 a.m., with Pastor Don Price officiating. There will be a viewing held at the First Church of God, Lancaster, on Saturday morning between 9 and 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, Millersville.
