Locals win big at Farm Show
The Pennsylvania Farm Show got off to a great start for local residents.
Elizabeth Gallagher of Lititz was a big winner this year. Her awards in the Rabbit Department include: Youth Classes, first in French Angora-Colored; fifth in Californian; first in Mini Rex-Blue; second in Mini Rex-Blue; third in Mini Rex-Broken; and first in Mini Rex-Castor and Opal. She won first in Youth Best of Variety for Mini Rex-Opal; first in Youth Best Opposite Sex of Variety in Mini Rex-Castor and Opal; and first in Youth-Best of Breed, French Angora.
Other area winners in the Rabbit Department were: Bryan Kerdeman of Hare Force One, Manheim, first in Youth Classes, Dutch-Tortoise; third in Holland Lop-Solid; first in Youth Best Opposite Sex of Variety, Dutch-Tortoise; and first in Holland Lop-Solid; and Brianna Sauder, first in Youth Classes, Mini Lop-Solid Pattern.
Local winners in the Family Living Department included: Dolores Murray of Lititz, second in Fashions with Flair, Handcrafted Garment and Children’s Clothing (Birth to Size 12); second in Clothing Textile Open, Crocheting-Garment and Youth or Adult Tops-Shirt; Brenda Watson of Lititz, first in Crafts Open, Table Runners-Pierced-Machine Quilted; Wendy Kellogg of Lititz, second in Hobbies, Photography-Adult, Black and White-Action/Sports; fourth in Junior-Black and White-Fair Photo; and fifth in Junior-Color-Fair Photo; Marjorie Kkauffman of Manheim, first in Crafts Open, Rugs-Braided; and Hobbies, Hand Constructed Potholders-Adult; and Roberta Hartz of Manheim, first in Crafts Open, Wreaths-Grapevine and Wreaths-Other; and Best of Show in Open Class Wreaths Section 0014 Classes 440-443.
